Kastamonu Stay Guide

Where to Stay

From restored Ottoman mansions to canyon-side village inns, from Ilgaz ski hotels to Black Sea boutique stays — Kastamonu offers a bed for every budget and every kind of traveller.

Our Approach

Kastamonu tourism has shifted toward sustainable, community-based hospitality. Around Küre Mountains National Park, villagers — led by women's cooperatives — have converted their own homes into eco-guesthouses. In the city centre, restored 18th–19th century mansions operate as boutique hotels. With skiing at Ilgaz, sea tourism in Cide and İnebolu, and equestrian farms in Daday, the province offers four-season options for every interest.

Booking Tips

Book Early

Reserve at least 2 months ahead for summer holidays (Jul–Aug), Garlic Festival (late Aug) and ski season.

Choose Local

Pick village inns and women's cooperatives to support the local economy directly.

Plan by Location

For multi-region trips, a combination of city centre + Pınarbaşı is the most practical.

Canyon Tours

A local guide is required for Valla Canyon — your guesthouse usually arranges it.

Pets

Most village inns are pet-friendly; ask city hotels separately.

Half Board

In villages restaurants are scarce — half board is usually the smarter choice.

Plan Your Stay

Decide your region, check the calendar and reach out to local cooperatives.
