Leave No Trace (LNT)

The 7 basic principles we should follow as visitors in nature.

1. Plan ahead and prepare

Check weather, trail length, water sources; note emergency numbers.

2. Travel and camp on durable surfaces

Use marked trails; avoid crushing vegetation; camp in designated areas.

3. Dispose of waste properly

Pack everything out (including organic). Never leave anything behind. Extinguish cigarettes and pick up butts.

4. Leave what you find

Do not collect plants, stones, antlers or artifacts; do not harm monumental trees.

5. Minimize campfire impact

Prefer a stove; if making a fire use designated fire pits and fully extinguish.

6. Respect wildlife

Do not feed animals; do not approach; do not disturb nests or young.

7. Be considerate of other visitors

Stay quiet; do not play loud music; yield to uphill hikers.
